They have also performed at several high profile festivals, including the UK’s Download festival. The band has played with artists such as Metallica and Nightwish and enjoyed several world tours. Some of Volbeat’s greatest songs include ‘Still Counting’, ‘A Warrior’s Call’, ‘Sad Man’s Tongue’ and ‘Lola Montez’. Volbeat cite their musical inspirations as coming from a variety of sources, from classic rock and roll artists such as Elvis Presley and Johnny Cash, to modern hard rock, heavy metal, alternative rock and hard core groups. All five of these albums are gold certified in Denmark. The band is currently signed to Dutch label Mascot Records and has released five albums to date, to great success. Following this, the band produced four more albums, switched record labels and lost and gained members on their journey to success. Their first album, released in 2005, was entitled ‘The Strength/The Sound/The Songs’ and was a huge success in their home country of Denmark, reaching number 18 on the country’s charts.

Poulsen formed the band after becoming disillusioned with the current death metal music scene. This pugilistic 2011 single is dedicated to former professional boxer Mikkel Kessler, and it’s an ass-kicking anthem bar none.
